Take a pastry cutter of any shape or size, which will fit inside your slice of bread.

Press it down firmly into the slice of bread.

Take out the shape and put to one side so you can paint it a different colour.

Paint the slice with poster paint until well covered.

Place slice onto paper and press down really well. Make sure you press the edges down.

Peel away the bread to reveal the print on the paper.

Paint the cut out shape in a contrasting colour.

Press the shape down well, into its space.

Peel away bread to reveal the print left on the paper.

You now have a print as well as a coloured slice of bread.

Or you can reassemble the slice with all the coloured shapes and print it all together at the same time.

With this method, it is easier to turn it all over and peel the paper from the bread.

You can also do it another way and cut out your own shapes. Bread cuts so easily with scissors.

When the prints are dry you can cut them out and make an arty collage decoration for display.

Take photos of the bright bread slices on coloured backgrounds or display the actual bread. Get brilliant with bread.
